Wild Tide Yoga offers a range of nurturing practices to help you slow down, reconnect, and move in harmony with yourself and the world around you. From the steady rhythm of weekly yoga classes to the deep rest of meditation, from seasonal practices rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine to supportive offerings for pregnancy and early motherhood; each one is designed to meet you where you are.

Whether you’re looking to restore balance, find stillness, or simply breathe a little more deeply, you’ll find something here to support your journey back to yourself.

“In meditation, the silence is not an absence of sound, but a profound presence that connects us with our inner being.”

-Sahajananda

Meditation

As Tara Brach says, “Meditation is not about feeling a certain way. It’s about feeling the way you feel.” And from that place of honesty, healing begins.

I first discovered meditation as a teenager, when my mum took me along to a local Buddhist meditation group. We began attending weekly sessions together, eventually joining a local Sangha and going on to spend time at residential and silent retreats. At the time, I was just looking for a way to manage the noise and stress of everyday life — but what I found was something much deeper: a practice that would become a lifelong companion.

Over the years, my meditation practice has evolved and shifted — sometimes structured, sometimes more intuitive — but it’s always been a space I return to. Like a gentle anchor in the storm.

I completed my Level 1 Mindfulness Practitioner training with the Mindfulness Association in 2019, and have since studied meditation further as part of my ongoing 500-hour yoga teacher training. My approach blends traditional mindfulness and breath awareness techniques with heart based practices from the yoga tradition.

For me, meditation has:
✨ Helped me respond to life with more softness and less reactivity
✨ Brought greater clarity and compassion into my relationships
✨ Improved my sleep, my focus and my ability to rest
✨ Deepened my connection to myself and others
✨ Helped me move through anxiety and overwhelm with greater ease

Whether you’re new to meditation or reconnecting with it after a break, I offer guidance that’s grounded, welcoming and real. You don’t need to sit cross-legged in silence for hours — meditation can meet you exactly where you are.

I see meditation as a powerful part of the self-care toolkit — not something we ‘add on’ to life, but a way of being that supports every part of it. You might begin simply with a few minutes of breath awareness a day, and from there, begin to feel the ripples it creates: in your nervous system, in your energy, in the way you move through the world.

Come as you are. There’s no perfect way to meditate — just a willingness to pause and listen.

“Meditation is not a technique to master, but an open-hearted inquiry into the truth of our being.”

-Adyashanti

Breathwork

“If you want to know how someone lives, watch how they breathe.” – Max Strom

Breath is something we do every moment of every day — and yet, most of us rarely pay it any attention. When we do, it can be life-changing.

Breathwork has been one of the most transformative tools in my own practice and teaching. Through consciously exploring the breath, we can soothe the nervous system, quieten the mind, and reconnect with the innate wisdom of the body.

At its heart, breathwork is about creating safety within. When we slow and deepen the breath, we signal to the body that it’s safe to rest, releasing tension and inviting the parasympathetic nervous system (our ‘rest and digest’ response) to come online. And it’s often in these moments of deep rest that our body’s natural capacity to heal can gently unfold.

Some of the ways breathwork can support you:
🌿 Calms the mind and helps relieve anxiety and overwhelm
🌿 Eases physical tension and supports digestion
🌿 Improves focus, sleep and emotional regulation
🌿 Helps us process and release held emotions
🌿 Restores a sense of balance and wholeness, especially in times of stress or transition
🌿 Supports postpartum recovery and the journey through pregnancy by nourishing the nervous system

Breathwork doesn’t have to be complicated. It might be as simple as learning to soften and lengthen the exhale, or exploring the rhythm of an oceanic ujjayi breath. Whether it’s practiced on its own, woven into your yoga, or as part of a guided relaxation — breathwork is a deeply accessible, empowering practice that you can carry into your daily life. All my classes and retreats feature some guided breathwork to help bring you into a deeper connection with your body and mind. I also offer breathwork courses and workshops as well as bespoke breathwork workshops which can be tailored to you or your organisation’s specific needs

As James Nestor writes, “Breathing is not just a biochemical process; it is a behaviour.” And like any behaviour, with gentle awareness and practice, it can change — and so can we.

In my classes, workshops and retreats, breathwork is always taught with care and sensitivity, meeting you exactly where you are. It’s a simple but profound tool in your self-care toolkit — helping you come home to yourself, one breath at a time.

“The quality of your mind determines the quality of your life.”

Stress Reduction

“You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf.”
–Jon Kabat-Zinn

We live in a world that often moves faster than our nervous systems were ever designed to handle. Deadlines, caring responsibilities, constant notifications, rising living costs, global uncertainty… it’s no wonder stress has become something of an epidemic.

What is stress, really?
At its core, stress is our body’s ancient survival mechanism — the fight, flight or freeze response — designed to protect us from danger. But while this response was helpful when our ancestors faced wild animals, today’s ‘threats’ are rarely life-or-death. Instead, they look like overflowing inboxes, difficult conversations, perfectionism, or the relentless pace of modern life.

When stress becomes chronic, it doesn’t just stay “in our heads.” It seeps into every system:
✨ Our nervous system remains on high alert, making us jittery or exhausted.
✨ Our digestive system slows or becomes reactive — thanks to the intimate gut–brain axis connecting our enteric nervous system to the brain via the vagus nerve.
✨ Our immune system can weaken, leaving us more vulnerable to illness.
✨ Our hormones may become imbalanced, affecting mood, sleep, and menstrual cycles.
It’s no surprise then that chronic stress is strongly linked with anxiety, depression, digestive issues, high blood pressure, autoimmune conditions, and even heart disease — all well supported by science.

“Between the stimulus and the response, there is a space. In that space lies our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.” – Viktor Frankl

How can we respond?

The good news: while we can’t always change the world around us, we can change how we respond. By gently training and tending to our nervous systems, we can become more resilient — better able to meet daily stresses without being overwhelmed.

At Wild Tide Yoga, I bring together a toolkit of time-tested practices, each chosen to soothe the nervous system and build inner strength:

🌿 Simple, accessible yoga sequences to release tension held in the body.
🌬 Breathwork to tap into the parasympathetic nervous system, sending a message of safety to body and mind.
🧘‍♀️ Meditation and mindfulness to help us meet thoughts and feelings with greater compassion and awareness.
✨ Qi Gong to balance and move energy through the body.
🪷 Lifestyle guidance rooted in ancient wisdom and modern understanding — because small, daily choices shape how we feel over time.

Why this matters to me

I’m passionate about stress reduction not just because I teach it, but because I’ve needed it too. I’ve navigated my own seasons of overwhelm and crisis, and witnessed loved ones struggle under the weight of stress. While in the depths of it, it can feel like nothing will help. But it’s the small, daily practices — the gentle breathing before bed, the few mindful stretches on a lunch break, the moment of stillness in the morning — that build an inner steadiness we can lean on when life gets turbulent.

“The greatest wealth is a peaceful mind.” – unknown

If you’d like to explore how these tools could help you — or your team — navigate stress with more ease, resilience and compassion, I’d love to hear from you.
Because while we can’t stop life’s waves, together we can learn to surf them with a steadier heart and clearer mind. 🌊🧘‍♀️✨

“Real transformation comes not from trying to fix ourselves, but from embracing ourselves fully and meeting life as it is.”

-Tara Brach

Seasonal Yoga & Herbalism

A match made in heaven…

Imagine stepping out of your busy week and into a space where you can pause, breathe, and reconnect — not just with yourself, but with the living, breathing seasons around you.

In collaboration with local herbalist Liz Thomas, our Seasonal Yoga and Herbalism retreats weave together the ancient wisdom of Seasonal Yoga and Traditional Chinese Medicine with the gentle power of seasonal herbalism. We explore how local plants and herbs can support your immune system and overall wellbeing, helping you live more in tune with nature’s rhythm.

These immersive half-day and evening retreats are crafted to help you slow down and be mindful. Each gathering includes:
🌿 A seasonal yoga practice designed to harmonise body and mind with the current season’s energy
🌿 Breathwork to soothe and support your nervous system
🌿 Meditation to ground and centre you
🌿 A herbalism workshop where you’ll create something beautiful and useful to take home — from winter throat sprays and nourishing green smoothies to herb hangers and seasonal herbal teas

As the wheel of the year turns, our herbalism offerings change too, so each retreat feels fresh and deeply rooted in the now. In the warmer months, we also love to take things outdoors — think foraging walks followed by yoga under open skies.
